From the Editor

Jenny WanderscheidHello and welcome to ChildFun!  I am Jenny, or as my internet friends have come to know me, Mrs. ChildFun. I am the proud wife of Rick, and stay at home mommy of Hunter, age 16, Conor, age 15, and Cassidy, age 11. I am also the creator, editor and maintainer of this website.

Here at ChildFun, our philosophy is that that play and learning go hand in hand.  We hope you think the same and find something here to help you become a better parent, teacher, friend and more.  We have spent the last few weeks working on adding new articles, activities and interactive features to make your experience here a better one.  Use the menu above or our search page  to find everything you need to run your home child care, enrich your preschool, or just be the most fun mom on the block! originated in my home almost thirteen years ago. I couldn't find a mailing list that suited me, and I had a hard time finding the perfect content rich web site just for moms and child care providers, so I started my own.  ChildFun is still run out of my living room.  As I write this letter, I am sitting on the couch with my laptop while my husband watches a movie.  I am the The Queen of multitasking!

ChildFun is now a lot different from when it began. It's grown from a small page of my favorite links, to hundreds of pages of ideas, curriculum plans and activities. Our weekly columnists lend different perspectives on parenting and help us all to grow and become better parents. Through our mailing lists, message boards and chats, members share insights and lend a supportive ear. After all, parents are the best resource for other parents.  It also branched out into our sister site,, one of the largest coloring book page sites on the internet!

There are so many activities and adventures at ChildFun, and all the free themes make planning your own preschool curriculum a breeze. Every mom with bored kids on vacation is sure to find something to keep them busy, and what grandma doesn't love a homemade gift? You can find it all here.

We are committed to expand, grow and continue to provide fresh new content. We have launched a whole new perspective of parenting fun, but this time, from a Dad's viewpoint. Please feel free to browse around, ask questions, and kick back and relax while you enjoy our site.

This site has grown from member contributions and suggestions, so please do not hesitate to write us directly anytime. Remember, parenting is fun, and learning and play are intertwined. Education does not need to be boring. Life was meant to be fun.  Don't ever let anyone tell you differently!

Wishing you and your family much fun, laughter and light.
